I also use IEMT to specifically target horse riders with the sole purpose of helping get rid of those nerves and get over past negative experiences. The results so far have been incredible!
No issue is too big or too small, if it’s holding you back let’s get rid of it!
If you’ve had an accident or a bad experience it can stay with you. These memories can really hold you back and keep you fearful of doing the thing you really love. It’s the emotional component of these memories that IEMT targets. Once removed the changes can be remarkable and you are free to move forward and enjoy yourself!
It doesn’t matter if you are a competition rider or a happy hacker. Riding should be fun.
Riding issues that IEMT has been successful in addressing include
  • fear of jumping
  • fear of hacking out
  • fear of losing control
  • mental blocks after an accident
  • the pre-riding ‘what ifs’
  • excessive competition nerves
  • not feeling good enough
  • fear of traffic when hacking out

What If?

This is a question that anyone with anxiety or fears (such as with their riding) will ask themselves repeatedly. Going through the list of every possible outcome is exhausting and will only help you avoid doing what you want to be doing.
With riding issues, it’s questions such as ‘What if a lorry comes when we are riding down that road’, ‘What if she spooks in that corners she doesn’t like’, what if he refuses the jump and I fall off’, ‘what if I make an idiot of myself in front of my instructor’ etc etc. If this is you and you feel stuck in this state then IEMT is ideal. This technique is used to address the underlying cause of the ‘what ifs…’ and create some real positive and lasting change. Wouldn’t it be nice to look forward to your next ride instead of worrying.
